Toddlers, Fort Flagler walkers and Fortune plums
Thank you friends!
We sent an email last week asking you to support your local store, and boy, did you ever! We had our busiest Saturday and Sunday since Labor Day weekend. We are grateful to everyone who consistently supports our community store. We are working hard to be your One Stop Shop! Please come back…we’re here for you daily from 9 am to 6 pm.
Meet 9 month old Hayes.
We’re pretty confident he is the youngest shopping cart user yet! Hayes says traveling barefoot allows him to get a real feel for the store. And it’s feeling pretty good. Don’t worry big guy! We keep our floors pristine.
Marrowstone Island local Lisa is a loyal full basket shopper.
She takes one stop shopping to an extreme! Our favorite Lisa quote? “If the Nordland General Store doesn’t have it, I don’t need it.” Neighbors like Lisa fill us with gratitude.
Welcome home walkers!
Once a month these friends (June, Rebecca, Carol, Kathleen and Katherine) gather for coffee and grocery shopping after an energetic Fort Flagler walk. They love our store’s small town feel and agree that saying “put it on my account” gives them a sense of belonging.
This is local islander Cora.
She requested we stock Have A’Corn Chips and Woodstock baby dill kosher pickles. So now we do! We take shopper requests seriously and want to carry your most loved groceries! Cora’s favorite things about the store? Our pastries and her short walk from home to the store.
MIF is hosting Coffee with the Chief on February 19 at the Nordland General Store.
Want to know about fire prevention and getting your home wildfire inspected at no charge? Interested in how the CARES program keeps our most vulnerable safe? Curious about go bags and fire extinguishers? Come join Chief Black to learn!
We’re pretty excited about our growing book collection.
Chelsie has thoughtfully curated an assortment of fiction and non-fiction titles, local interest books, cookbooks and more. We are grateful to Sam from Imprint Books in Port Townsend who paved the way for us to offer books to our community.
Alice and Tim live on the south end of Marrowstone Island.
We appreciate when they make their way north to our store instead of traveling off-island to shop. Alice is an avid gardener who grows food to nourish her family and neighbors and to supply the local food bank. Both Alice and Tim love coming to our store for sweet and savory pastries. We appreciate this incredible pair. And we adore Alice’s pashmina wrap!
